In the half pool, those that had Junior are atop the standings. Everyone else that had picked really good picks, are on the bottom, due to wrecks or blown engines. It's early guys, don't get too excited!

Race Results - Daytona 500
Ok, the wait is over. The results are in. Starting with the big pool: So, we had interesting developments just before the start of the 500, with the Busch brothers not racing. Kurt out for abusing his wife, and no time line if he will ever race again, and Kyle, who was injured in Saturday's Xfinity series race. So, Mark, who is taking points from the 41 replacement driver and Brian, swapped to his number 4 pick Mears, fared pretty good. Great race until the race was ended when the caution fell while the cars were on the backstretch on the last lap. This prevented Harvick and Junior from ganging up on Logano and one of them winning. Dillons wreck of the 24 and ensuing melee knocked me out of possible first place when it involved Larson. Mark took first place, Brian took second, me third. It's early guys, don't get too excited.

2015 Fist Half "1/2 Pool"
Here you go, 12 contestants. Was hoping for a lot more, but maybe next half. New rule in place, if you pick the winner of the race you get "0" points. Kind of like a bonus point for picking the winner. Good luck to all!

2015 Driver Picks
Well, yesterday we succeeded in picking our drivers for this season, and let me tell you, it actually went pretty easy. Mark couldn't make it, so he had one pick in mind (which he got) and the rest was highest available. John couldn't be there, so he gave me a list of drivers in draft order (solid team). And, James was down in Atlantic City, being all romantic on Valentines Day with his wife (probably at a boat show or something) was available by text and got a decent team for picking last. Remember to those who weren't there last night, If your driver isn't racing in a particular race, you have the option of taking the replacement driver of that car or taking your fourth pick. We only went with four picks, because as you know it is really slim pickings when you get to round 5. Well, here you go, and good luck next week.

2015 Season
OK. Here we go. In two weeks the 2015 season kicks off at Daytona. I hope everyone is anxious to see them cars hit the track again. I am attaching the sheets for the half pool, and hope more people can join up this year. As far as the big pool is concerned, look to be picking next weekend. In the meantime, study up and get ready for another exciting year.

Results From Homestead - Ford EcoBoost 400
Well, what an eventful end to the season. Gary was 4 points out of second, Mark was 10 points out of 3rd. Mark's team failed to realize he was in the hunt for the final money spot, and let James finish in third. The big news was that Gary scored almost 60 points more than Brian to win his third championship in a row. Remember boys and girls, I do not think that even when Colleen was running this pool, anyone ever won two in a row, and Gary here has won three. I hope he realizes, he will not be allowed to participate in next years pool as a courtesy to everyone else.
John M. held on to win the 1/2 pool, in spite of pretty much everyone having a terrible week. Debbie, moved up a spot to cash in third, knocking John M out of third.
Congrats to all who played this year. If you could let me know as soon as possible if you will be back next season in the big pool, that would be great. Also, if everyone could ask around, and get some people into the half pool, that would be great too.
Even though I have Nascar Pool Burnout, I am already eagerly waiting for next season to begin.
Adios for now,
Paul
