Results From Charlotte - Coca Cola 600

The Nascar equivalent of a long distance marathon.  The 2015 Coca Cola 600 is in the books.  No drama this year as to who would be pulling the double (Indy 500 + Coke 600).  600 miles and the last few laps came down to who might run out of gas.  In the end Carl Edwards wound up saving enough fuel to take the checkered flag.  Jimmie Johnson, a favorite to win the event, spun twice and the second time hitting the inside wall and finished 40th, 30 laps off of the leaders.  James scored the high and even with Kyle Busch returning, Brian had the low (JJ).  Because of James' great week, he moved into a first place tie with me.  Mark also gained some ground and is now 30 points away.
In the half pool, lots of switching places, and John M. wound up with a yo-yo day.  His #2 pick fell three spots to 4th (from 1st) and his #1 pick moved up three spots to 2nd.  The field tightens with six races to go.
Good luck to all in Dover on Sunday and don't forget that the race will be on Fox Sports 1.

Results From Kansas - SpongeBob SquarePants 400

What a great race.  I kind of like Kansas.  Much more than I like Michigan or the road-courses.  Jimmie Johnson winning..... I could live without.  Harvick and Junior just couldn't catch ole Jimmie in the closing laps.  Another Gibbs guy (Hamlin) upset with the way cars go too fast around a track around or near a spinning car before a caution comes out.  It is called racing, ya know.  No change in the big pool this week.
In the half pool, John with a big slip, and everyone gets a little closer.  Rich picks Jimmie and makes up some ground.  Janice picks Stewart and loses big ground.
This weekend is the All-Star race.  Next weekend is the 600.
Enjoy all!

Results From Talladega - Geico 500

Talladega.  Love this track, especially now that we are back to pack racing and done with that tandem car racing.  That edge of your seat feeling, waiting for the big one and hoping your driver is either ahead of it or far enough behind it so as not to be involved.  Now it's over and we can see if there were any big losers or winners.  This time around, Brian was the big winner as he scores a 101 and gained a little ground on us top 3.  I jumped into first, although only 4 points ahead of third.  Close one here.
In the half pool, Brian was a big gainer there too, as he moves up three to 3rd and Colleen picked Junior for the win and jumped up one.  Those who were involved in the big one slipped a little bit, but there is still 8 races left to gain a little ground.  Good luck to all on Saturday night in Kansas!

Results From Richmond - Toyota Owners 400

Wow, cannot believe I did not post this yet.  Had it done, got side-tracked and actually thought I had uploaded it already.  Kurt Busch had a strong car from what I can remember from this race, with Harvick having a pretty equal car to his.  John M has highest score this week and tries to make it a 4 man race, with Mark, myself and James.  Gary continues to slide further away, but we have seen this before with him.
In the half pool, new leader, John M. And now, Blaster is hot on my heels for second.  Yikes!  Still close until about 6th place.  Still anybody's to win.  Especially with Talladega up next, anything can happen.
   Good luck to all!
